FAQ- some common questions about Alfa AWUS036H 1000mW USB adapter w/ 7 dBi panel antenna kit: I pick up 6 signals with the 5 dBi omni-directional antenna but only 4 signals with the 7 dBi panel antenna- is something wrong with the panel antenna? -The panel antenna is a directional antenna that concentrates gain in the direction it is pointed. It does not pull in signals equally from all around, but should pull in better range and signal in the direction it is pointed. So you may see more signals overall with the omni, but the directional one will help you get the best signal to one in particular. Whether I use the omni or the directional, I see 3 signals, and all of them have the same number of bars in Windows. How can this be? -antenna placement is very important. Wi-Fi signals bounce around and can be impacted by invisible interference (noise). Also note that when using a utility that reports signals as 4 or 5 bars, each bar represents 20-25% of signal strength. So one antenna may be pulling in the signal 15% better than the other, and yet the difference in bars may be only 0 or 1. We recommend using more detailed programs for precise signal strength analysis. Our support staff has over 100 years of combined Wi-Fi and antenna experience, so please contact us for help with antenna placement and details on what programs to use for signal strength testing. Why would this adapter work better than a generic 1000mW USB adapter, since they both have the same output power? -1000mW refers to the maximum output power at which the device can operate. It is important to read the fine print. Many generics can technically output at 1000mw max, but can only do so at very slow connection speeds. The other important distinction is the chipset. The Alfa has a Realtek RTL8187 chip which is the most sensitive Realtek G chipset. Many generics will say they use a Realtek chipset just like Alfa, but they use an RT8187B chip, which has much weaker receive sensitivity. Alfa also puts their item though much stricter quality control tests and high quality manufacturing processes, meaning your adapter is likely to last much much longer than a cheaply assembled knockoff. How far away can I pick up signals with this? -For this question there is no exact answer. Wireless range is an imperfect science. The range you get with any adapter will vary markedly depending on the strength and quality of the wireless access point being used, as well as obstacles and interference in the area. Keep in mind that interference can often be invisible. The Alfa is the longest range and most powerful standalone wireless adapter on the market at the time of this writing. Basically, if this kit does not work for you, you will likely need to look into some sort of high gain outdoor setup. If you are trying to pick up signals from far away, and are not sure this will give you enough range, please contact us with details about your situation and we may be able to offer an opinion.

According to the US Postal Service, First Class takes an average of 3-7 delivery days to arrive. This is not a guaranteed transit time though, it is just an average delivery time (internationally First Class can take 2-4 weeks, international buyers please read all international shipping details down below).

International Shipping Rates & Customs Duty Information: We ship worldwide via Standard First Class mail. This method is $18.95 ($12.95 to Canada)- yes US Post Office hiked rates by about 50% in 2016, so unfortunately rates are much higher than in the past. It can take 2-4 weeks or longer to arrive. This is primarily because the item can be held at customs for inspection for a long period.

*Import duties and taxes are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up- do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. GENERAL NONPAYMENT POLICY- Remember that your purchase is a contract to pay for the item. Please don't click the "Buy Now" button unless you will pay for the item. Payment is due within seven days from the end of auction. If you have a problem completing the auction, please communicate with us. Please make sure this is the item you want before buying as once an auction is won or purchased unfortunately because of nonrefundable eBay listing and feature fees we are unable to accommodate cancellations (exception- if you buy the wrong type of adapter for your computer, such as a laptop card when you meant to buy a desktop card, we can switch your order to the correct type).

At Rokland, our products are guaranteed to work for 45 days. Additionally, we want customers to be able to return products that they don't want, don't like, or did not mean to buy. That said, we do incur costs for each return, such as the nonrefundable eBay listing and feature fees. If an item returned was new, we must resell it for much less money as a used open box item. Therefore, we charge a minimal 10% restocking fee on all returned items (new and used), except for products that test defective upon receipt back here. Defective products can be exchange or returned for refund with no restock fee removed. If you do wish to return a product, please contact us for return address instructions. Shipping and return shipping expenses are not refundable unless we ship you the incorrect product or the product you receive is defective. In the event we send the wrong item, we will send the correct one to you at our expense and also reimburse you for your return shipping of the incorrect product.

1. Customs duty and tax: Many countries will charge the recipient import tax on items purchased on eBay. We do not have knowledge of which countries charge tax and how much it could be. Customers are advised to contact their local postal or tax offices prior to bidding. Rokand is not responsible and will not reimburse international buyers for taxes charged on delivery. Rokand cannot mark items as gifts, lower the value of the goods on the customs form, or engage in any other modification to assist in the lowering or elimination of valid taxes.
2. Insurance and proof of shipment: Items sent outside the USA are insured. US Postal Regulations state insurance covers only the cost of the product, and does not cover the shipping charge. When you inquire for shipping rate quotes, we will advise you of the average time frame for delivery. If your product has not arrived within 30 mailing days of shipping, please contact us so we can trace the package for you. All parcels are sent with tracking and tracking information is provided to the customer at the time of shipment. If your package is lost in transit, we will file an insurance claim on your behalf. The US Postal Service requires that all insurance claim filings include a signed letter from you, the recipient, stating you have not received the parcel shipped to your address. This is a requirement and the letter can be faxed to us, scanned and emailed, or sent through Postal mail. We cannot issue any refunds for lost packages or ship any replacements without this letter. If you select a replacement, we will pay to ship it to you. If you select a refund, you will be refunded only the price of the product, as noted above US Postal Regulations do not allow us to insure the cost of the postage.
3. Returns: Buyers outside the USA may return products in accordance with our above advertised return policy. It is important to note that shipping and return shipping are NEVER refundable, with the sole exception of a case where we ship the wrong product (example: you buy a wireless adapter and we send a keyboard by mistake).
