Vintage Antonius Stradivarius Violin Copy Made in Czechoslovakia with Case

Item Description

Here is a nice vintage violin that is a copy of an Antonius Stradivarious violin that was made in Czechoslovakia. Recently picked this piece up as a trade in a transaction. And remember, there is never any sales tax to US customers as I live in Delaware, the home of tax free shopping!

The label calls the violin a "Copy of Antonius Stradivarius". The strings and bridge are still on the violin.

The violin has a two piece back and a two piece soundboard. Nice dark cherry finish on the violin that does not appear to have been altered or worked on. I see a 1 inch crack that emanates from the bottom of the left f hole that was repaired at some juncture. I see no other cracks, splits or repairs to this violin to report to you. The sound post is up.

Nice looking f holes, purfling, and beaks on this violin. The violin's seams are still tightly glued together. The nut and end peg that came with it are still there as are the chin rest and the tail piece. Nice scrolling at the end of the neck. Great looking back and front on the violin. The chin rest appears to be made of a plastic. The violin has some loss of finish and scratching.

The ebony keyboard has no ridging on it that would impede string play. Neck also seems to be firmly attached to the body. The violin does have a strong sound to it when I tightened the strings and pulled a bow across them a few times. I do not play, so please do not ask me to describe the sound any more than what I have attempted here.

The violin is 23-3/8" long, by 8.25" across. The body is 14" long. The tuning pegs on it match. The violin came in an older hard case that will be wrapped inside a well packed box to ensure that it gets to you safely.

This musical instrument is not represented to be in playing condition. There most likely will need to be refurbishing done to make this instrument playable again. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.

Returns Policy

Returns are accepted by seller within 14 days of receipt of item by buyer, where an item is not as described. The Buyer will be assessed a $25 restocking fee should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason.
In accordance with eBay's Buyer Protection Program, the purchase price plus original shipping cost will be refunded to the buyer once the item has been received by the seller, minus the $25 restocking fee noted.
Buyer would pay for the return shipping cost and any applicable insurance cost (item is the buyer's financial responsibility until the item is safely returned to the seller by shipper).
