Description:
1 genuine U.S. Naval Officer's dress sword with dress belt.  This fine US Navy dress sword would make an important addition to any collection.

This sword is etched on one side of the ricasso with the maker's name.  It reads 'GERMANY  H-H  TRADE MARK  HILBORN HAMBURGER INC.  NEW YORK   MADE IN SOLINGEN GERMANY'.  The opposite side of the ricasso is etched 'STAINLESS   PROVED'.  

The blade is etched on one side with an anchor, a shield, stars, a USN flag, battle axes, and a trident.  The reverse side of the blade is etched with a large anchor, an eagle, a cannon, and a U.S.N. banner.

The sword blade itself measures 31".  The belt is complete. 




Condition:
This vintage U.S. Naval Officer's dress sword and belt are in nearly perfect condition.  The sword handle will wiggle a bit.  The blade and its etch are perfect.  The leather of the scabbard has some occasional scuffs and scratches.  The scabbard bends towards one's leg.  I can see where some may do that on purpose so that it carries tighter to the body--but I can't rule out that the scabbard could just simply be bent.  The sword blade is not bent.  The sword belt is in perfect condition.



This highly detailed U.S. Naval Officer's sword would make an important addition to any collection.
