SCARYRECORDZ CURRICULUM VITAE:
Meticulous Vinyl grading, notated as follows:

Mint (M)
- perfect in every way. i would prefer to use NM for a flawless record, but the general lowering of grading standards forces me to use MINT as a way of distinguishing a TRULY PERFECT record from a gorgeous "like-new," NM record. (there is a difference.)
Near Mint (NM)
- a NM record will be extremely close to perfect, (or M), but will have some manner of mitigating factor (faint shadowing perhaps, or MAYBE an incredibly hard to find ultra-wisp). This could even be an unplayed record - just on-so-shy of flawless.
Excellent (EX)
- my most-used grade. this is a top-quality, collectable record. full, shining gloss. on first look may appear "brand new," but under meticulous inspection at different angles and under harsh, direct, artificial light, a paper wisp, or an extremely faint sleeve scuff will be visible. No more than two or three insignificant flaws, and must appear superior when pulled from the sleeve. (many dealers call this NM.)
VG+
- a very very nice record. retains near full gloss. may have a extremely light blemish or two. no "scratches" that can be felt with the fingernail test, and certainly not handfulls of spider-webs and needle-drags. a solid, well cared-for, but certainly played record.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(i generally don't bother selling records that grade VG or lower, but will occasionally offer a rare title for someone who doesn't want to break the bank on a higher grade, collectable copy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Very Good (VG)

- does not mean "bad." a serviceable, playable copy. will have multiple defects, but when pulled out of sleeve will still appear playable and mostly clean. should not skip, but may play with light noise between songs and during quiet passages.
Good (G)
- well, this is close to "bad!" a place-holder. will play, but with obvious loss of fidelity. May have scratches that can be felt with a fingernail. dull patches.

** Since grading is, by definition, the act of assessing degrees of condition, I do use combinations of grades ("EX/NM" or "VG+/EX" etc.) intuitively to communicate the condition of a record.

** I do not use a deliniated grading system for covers, sleeves, etc. I post multiple giant-size photos of what I sell, and try to mention any defect that may not be clear in a photo. I will use a grade along with the pictures, but it is flexible. The pictures do a much better job. (Please look at them all.)

I have more than 30 years experience as a collector and over twelve years experience as an eBay seller.

I inspect and clean every record under direct light. I stick to high-end records - the kind I would buy. And since grading is subjective - and because it's how I would like to be treated - I offer a 100%, no bullshit, money back guarantee if you are not happy. I mean, NO HASSLE! I will even pay your cost to return the record to me. No sniping, no snarking . . . . just a quick refund and a sincere apology.

I grade vinyl visually, unless noted, and even though I do not check the audio fidelity of every disc, I will accept a return if - for some reason - the audio falls short of the visual grade. No problem!

I am meticulous in every aspect of my eBay work. I post multiple giant-size photos of covers, labels, and sleeves, of the exact item you are buying. I answer questions promptly.

I promise that:

*your transaction with me will be seamless.
*your record (s) will be shipped in top of the line "Bags Unlimited" Custom LP Mailer boxes.
*before packing, each record will be removed from its cover.
*that each record will be removed from any "custom" or "period" sleeves, and placed in a new generic paper sleeve to avoid seam splitting.
*the disc, inner, and cover will be sealed inside a new, resealable 1mil plastic sleeve.

*i will pack using custom 12x12 small-bubble padding sheets, as well as heavy-duty cardboard 12x12 reinforcement squares that I cut myself with an old-school paper cutter.

*i will fold the custom LP mailer (1-5 LPs) box to its largest size, and use the above mentioned reinforcement components to ensure a safe delivery.
* you will NEVER receive a cheap, white, banged-up LP box - or some homemade fold-over job from me. NEVER.)

*your record(s) will be mailed within 1 business day of your payment, via the shipping method you choose; I offer many.

       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* I think that covers it. If I forgot anything, just ask. I've decided to keep it simple. No more fancy templates or epic books of info on each record. You know what you're looking at.
