Here for sale is this beautiful Royal Copenhagen Flora Danica lunch or dinner plate with the form number #624 (before #3549). This plate of the world's most prestigious  dinner service was produced from the highly regarded porcelain manufactury Royal Copenhagen, Danmark. This plate was made  between 1992 and 1999 and is in excellent condition !!!

This lovely plate is  decorated with the realistic and detailed Flora Danica over-glaze pattern, a  Ayuga genevensis L. / Blue  bugle  or Geneva bugleweed is painted in the centre of the plate.   Ajuga genevensis (also variously known as the upright bugle, blue bugle,  Geneva bugleweed, blue bugleweed) is a herbaceous  flowering plant native to Europe. The world's most prestigious dinnerware

One of the last luxury services still in existence from  the 18th century is perhaps the world's most prestigious dinnerware in  production today. Flora Danica is reputed to be one of the most original and  inspired products of the European art industry from the golden age of  porcelain.

The creation of the Flora Danica dinnerware was an immense  task. It became the life's work of one of the most gifted artists of the  late 18th century, and one of the greatest porcelain painters, Johann  Christoph Bayer. The long and laborious process commenced in 1790 and was  not finished until 12 years and 1,802 different pieces of hand-moulded and  hand-painted porcelain later.

To this very day Flora Danica is still moulded and painted  by hand as it was more than 200 years ago. The elaborate and intricate  overglaze decorations contain more than 700 wild plants in their patterns,  all culled from the old encyclopaedia "Flora Danica".

Flora Danica is admired today as it was when it was first  produced, although culture and taste have changed a great deal since then.  Flora Danica speaks to us across the ages - perhaps, as our world returns to  nature, more eloquently than ever before. One never tires of studying the  service, because each and every piece is decorated with an individual and  highly articulated plant - complete with flower, leaves, stem, root and  fruit.

Royal Copenhagen, grüne Marke "Krone und Royal  Copenhagen, Denmark", drei blaue Wellen unter Glasur, 1. Wahl (kein Schleifstrich durch  die Manufakturmarke), Herstellungszeitraum gemäß Marke: 1992-1999, Modell-Nr.  624 (zuvor 3549), Malersignatur  sowie lat. Bezeichnung Ayuga genevensis L. Durchmesser ca. 25,5 cm.

Das Flora Danica-Service zählt zu den  berühmtesten noch heute produzierten Servicen des ausgehenden 18.  Jahrhunderts. Ursprünglich im Jahr 1790 vom dänischen König Christian VII.  für die russische Kaiserin Katherina II. in Auftrag gegeben, verblieb das  Service nach deren Tod jedoch im Besitz der dänischen Königsfamilie.  Neuzeitliche Stücke des Flora Danica-Services werden heute von den  Mitgliedern der königlichen Familie und der dänischen Regierung zu  speziellen Anlässen verschenkt.
