I decided not to test this factory new engine because I didn't want to damage anything and I didn't think I could get it back in the packaging with all the protective cloths in-place like it came from the factory. This is a limited edition train of only 2000 units produced in 1996. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and a nice wood case. It has directional lighting and a working smoke unit. It is DCC ready, meaning you can add the chip to this unit, but it is not included. The unit measures approximately 7 1/2 inches long. Nice looking set.
The wood box blue cover has some shelf wear. The actual wood box looks real nice with minimal surface scratches.
