This is a reproduction piece in beautiful condition no damage noted. Makes a great display piece.

I am not as concerned about selling this piece as informing the newest of collectors. After all without them the collection dies.

I have decided to start including the weights on these newer reproduction pieces to help the newest of collectors make honest informed additions to their collection. Nothing is more disappointing than starting a collection and finding out you have purchaced a reproduction without knowing it. There ARE honest sellers of reproductions, they state it in the description. Don't get me wrong, sometimes a design fits nicely into a collection and its a desired addition. Mind you I am NOT an expert, I am new to this field of collecting but find myself getting hooked.

Some pieces are genuine antiques. Reproduced popular designs are thought to have been loaned to other companies. The biggest difference I have seen, is the crispness in the detail of the design and the weight. In my limited experience, newer more recent pieces tend to be heavier.

When I first started selling this collection, a couple of years ago, the serious collectors asked to see the striker, flange and hinge areas. You will notice my photos show these details.

A wonderful and very helpful group is the International Match Safe Association or IMSA. You can find them online. All comments and additional information are welcome to help others make informed investments.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have before purchase.
