About the Exhibition display stand
Professional, sturdy, lightweight, highly portable and easy to use.

The display stand is made of relatively lightweight metal, yet is sturdy and highly durable with it's stylish silver chrome foot-weight holding it steady.
Measuring ~1800 x 841 x 450mm fully assembled, it weighs in at under 900grams (excluding the banner).
This model is highly compatible with other media types and banners and is very popular, economical, sturdy, and extremely lightweight compared to other stands.
The ability to disassemble it quickly and roll up the poster while fitting everything into a small carry bag (6 x7 x 90cm; included) makes it a favourite among exhibitors around the world. It is a 1 side display model, with the main display facing forward, and the legs hidden from the front, but can also be used as a 2 sided display if you don't mind the spine being in the way. The free banner print is 1 sided, which is the standard for this display stand and is used for many front facing banners in exhibitions.
In windy situations, you can add a brick or weights to the base to support it, Since the base is basically a pole, you can very easily secure it to anything with cable / string / rope.

The spine is designed to be bent like a spring to hold any banner taut in calm winds or in exhibition hallways, and has a heavy weight at the foor to hold it steady.
it has a vertical height tolerance of +/- 10cm. This means that it can accept posters and banners that are 10cm above or below the rated height ; this can be achieved by sliding the spine connector at the base closer or further from the front, or if desired, trimmed with an angle grinder (irreversible)

The stand comes disassembled, and simple assembly is required.

To check a JPG/ BMP/ PNG file resolution:
In Windows Vista , 7, 8, 10 just hover your mouse over the image for a few seconds and it should display the file size.
In Windows XP right click on the right an select properties and click on the Summary Tab.

MINIMUM File Size: 1527 x 1080 pixels or larger
Please send an image at least 1.6 to 2 Megapixels in size. This is because A0 is Huge; about the size of a 50" Full HDTV.
This gives our printing algorithms a reasonable chance to try and smoothen it out so it looks relatively decent from a normal viewing distance.
Documents are exempted from this rule: for example, PDF files (unless you have images in them). Smaller file sizes are ok for smaller sized prints or if you request a low quality printout..
We can print smaller images, but i'll look bad.

RECOMMENDED File Size: 2378 x 1682 or larger
4 Mega pixel images will generally produce good results like those you see in commercial posters and banners.
We recommended your original image size to be at least 4 Mega pixels; 2378 x 1682 or above. This is about the same as the most high resolution definition 4K TV sets available.

FOR BEST RESULTS: 8268 x 11693 file size
We can handle around 100 Megapixels for ridiculously clear and sharp results. This is required if you have many small images in your A0 print.
Please do not send an image over 100 Megapixels (Nothing over 10000 x 10000 pixels worth)
as it totally unnecessary and may prevent ink colour profiles from working properly.

DO NOT ARTIFICIALLY ENLARGE an image,
Unless you are using Aerospace / Airforce / government level supercomputer based algorithms,
If the image is originally already blurry, boosting resolution using most commercially available software doesn't really improve quality.
It may reduce the blocky edges, but we automatically do that at our end so there's no need for you to do so. You'll just be wasting bandwidth sending the image.

Applying UV protection and clear coatings:

We use Outdoor archive grade pigment ink, which lasts very long in 'Clean' Sun, Wind & Rain.
You normally don't need additional protection if displaying on a wall indoors out of direct sun and contact. However, like most posters, it is possible for prints to be damaged, stained or fade from physical abrasion, scratching, bird / insect droppings, dirty water, acid rain, ink, and solvents like turpentine / alcohol. So, if displaying prints in dirty / damaging conditions / outdoors or for extended periods, do consider applying some form of clear protection / enclosure to help shield it and make cleaning easier(instructions below)

All ink fades when exposed to UV / strong sunlight after different lengths of time. This is a well known fact, and applies to our archival grade pigment ink, it just fades far slower than other inks.
However Bird and Insect droppings and dust and contact damage and dirty /acid rain water are other reasons why you should protect your print.

If you are displaying this print for over 1 year outdoors or indoors or in dirty conditions, then you should help protect it. You can apply UV protection like Clear sealers, like Krylon UV resistant spray, or Concrete sealer or Clear enamel, or you can frame up and cover the poster with UV resistant glass or plastic (like polycarbonate) or UV blocking Acrylic; to help slow down fading. It also helps prevent colours from scratches and making the prints easier to clean off bird or insect droppings or dust/dirt that accumulates over time on the surface.
You can do an internet search for UV protection print sprays or laminates to see which method suits you best.

How about use Human SPF 30+ Sunscreen/Sunblock? Our canvas is Very special in terms of UV protection because it is designed to absorb most SPF30+ Human Sunscreens like those you find in the supermarket. It only costs around 20 cents worth to coat the entire print in sunscreen. If you tried this on other types of paper from other sellers, it would cause other seller's paper to warp or tear from the moisture, but our canvas won't even flinch or warp. Sunscreen changes from white to transparent clear when dry (just like on human skin), so don't worry if it looks white initially. If in doubt, you can do a small test patch on clothes or your skin or on your print on arrival. It's best to use sunscreen that 'dries clear' for best results and doesn't turn white over time otherwise it will reduce the contrast on your print, so only use the type that doesn't degrade in the sun. Generally our new generation prints we don't require you to apply sunscreen or protection if using indoors.


Instructions to apply protection:

If you are applying with a roller brush, or by hand, only use water based coatings, otherwise, if you use alcohol solvent type coatings, the print will dissolve and the colour will smear everywhere.
If you are applying via spray can, alcohol or water based coatings are ok as long as you don't actually touch the print and keep it level and don't over saturate / overflow it with coating. This is because alcohol type solvent protection dissolves the colour ink bonds to the canvas, meaning all the ink / colour will flow like water while wet or touched, so if you're not careful all the colour will flow away like water down a window.

1. If required, remove any foldlines / creases first by Ironing Very Gently using the Tip or edge of a clothes iron at 140 degrees C along the fold/crease lines. Avoid ironing other parts or for extended periods as extended heat may cause ink to fade.
2. Prepare equipment; An A0 print uses about 50ml to 200ml of coating. You can dilute with 50% water in a bowl if desired if your coating allows it. You can apply using a roller paint brush (best), or paintbrush, sponge, or spray on (if your protective coating comes in a spray can)
4. Lay the print facing up on a flat, level waterproof surface (very important, othewrwise the colour will dissolve and flow away due to gravity).
5. Apply the protection ALL AT ONCE, EVENLY AT THE SAME TIME, GENTLY TO ALL NEEDED PARTS,
If you apply coatings unevenly, or if parts dry first unevenly, permanent stains may appear at the edges. Why? First contact with Water causes a chemical reaction and seals the print, so Uneven application and drying will cause residue ink to concentrate in groups/circles puddles, causing uneven 'circular stains or watermark rings'. So apply sunscreen all at once in one application in one direction (e.g top to bottom) to ensure it dries evenly.
You do not need to apply to unprinted white areas as there is no ink there to fade, unless you are concerned about dirt and stains.
5. Do not make the coating too thick otherwise it may not dry fully transparent and may flow like water down a stream, dragging the coloured ink with it.
6. Care for your protected prints: Depending on what protection you use, it may also need to be reapplied / changed after a few years. Polycarbonate coatings degrades after around 5 to 10 years in direct sun for example.

If you use human sunscreen, it washes away with water, so it's best not to expose the print to any water or other liquid after sunscreen is applied, also once you apply coating, it may not be compatible with irons. (so do any ironing before applying protective coatings.

UV protection is not a complete protection, it just slows down ink fading by 95%+ and makes prints easier to wash / clean. The remaining 0-5% will still erode your print over time, so for absolute protection, prints should only be lit up using modern (non-UV) LED based globes in a gallery / room with absolutely ZERO sunlight coming through, and with coating applied. Completely avoid all light that comes from the sun, both direct through windows and reflected of walls. We recommend you use LED bulbs or SMD's to illuminate your prints. LED bulbs are quickly replacing flourescent bulbs in houses due to their very low cost on eBay and very high efficiency and lifespan. For example, to check, turn off the lights in your house and if you can still see the print in the day, that means UV light is coming through windows somewhere. Glass windows do NOT block 'all damaging wavelengths UV light',

Please know that we do not use disappearing ink to annoy our customers, so we are warning you in advance to take precaution against UV exposure (as stated above) and you agree not to hold us responsible for ink fading for any reason, otherwise you are Not permitted to buy this item.

Ironing Prints and removing fold lines and creases.

You can remove creases and folds by ironing gently at ~130 degrees Celsius.

Start by setting the iron to the lowest temperature and move up slowly till it works well.
Do not exceed 140 Degrees Celsius (or midway on the iron setting)

To Iron the creases flat, GENTLY use the edge / corners / tip of the iron to follow / trace and flatten the crease or fold lines.
Don't flop the entire flat hot iron base onto the print unless the entire print is badly crumpled or creased,

Avoid as much contact as possible as excessive ironing and heat may cause printed ink to fade or crack or rub off, so don't overdo it.

If you encounter problems, or if the creases are stubborn to remove, you can dab or drip a few drops of pure clean water along the crease lines, or spray some water onto the fold lines using a mist sprayer.
then cover with clean non-stick / greaseproof paper and iron gently.

Never exceed 140 degrees Celsius and never press too hard; you may melt the surface and ruin the print permanently.
If in doubt, you may use a higher temperature at your own risk, and if so, do try ironing a spare corner bit first to test if it will melt.

Storing Prints

Prints can be stored folded (fold gently, DO NOT press along the fold lines) or rolled up and secured with a rubber band.
Prints are best stored away from water and UV light and away from sunlight.

Note that some plastics and bags are transparent to UV and infrared light, (which is how UV black-lights work) so wood or metal cupboards work better to prevent UV or infrare dlight for damaging the print.

Washing Prints and Managing Wet Prints:

Our new generation of prints from October 2014 onwards are generally water resistant to begin with, but If required, you can wash the print if dirty.

Our pigment inks are water resistant and generally do not dissolve in water when dry. So they won't run in the rain, or upon contact with water. However, water does weaken the surface it bonds to so the ink resin may dislodge.

Note: The Print coating is more vulnerable when wet. It can smear off or stain/stick back on itself if two printed areas touch / overlap each other when wet. Ink can also come off if you rub it hard when wet,, or press on it when wet, so do not do wash prints on windy days.

If you need to wash your prints for some reason, you will need to hang / peg the print up by the corners as flat as possible on a clothes line, or on a flat table, and spray it gently with a garden hose or water mister bottle;
spray the entire print with clean water evenly from top to bottom to avoid uneven drying marks / water marks / stains forming. Let it dry overnight without wind, or perhaps in the sun for an hour or two..

Also avoid using dirty water. The photoresin surface of the canvas is designed to trap ink and water soluble particles, and won't know the difference between dirty water and ink. So if you use dirty water, you may stain the print permanently or unevenly..

You may need to reapply sunscreen or other UV protection once you wash your print. But it's a good idea to do so.
Bird or insect droppings may stain prints, so protecting your print on arrival with a waterproof coating or sunscreen helps form a protective barrier that you can wash easily when such things happen.

Answer: We offer Proofing only for bulk orders (>5 sets); contact us to arrange details; additional fees may apply. We do not offer ICM at the moment.

Question: How long before the ink fades?
Answer: Depends on the amount of UV exposure. Fading can start as early as 2 days, or 2 weeks, or 2 months, or 2 years.. depending on how much UV exposure the print is exposed to, or whether it has been protected from UV exposure

Question: Is the print waterproof?
Answer: No. but it is water resistant.
