Curt Class 1 trailer hitches are the lightest-duty hitches of their rear mount receiver lineup. They are engineered for reliability, welded together with quality American steel and blasted clean for a smooth finish. Tested to meet the strict demands of the industry, the Curt Class 1 hitch has a capacity to tow up to 2,000 lbs. of gross trailer weight and up to 200 lbs. of tongue weight. This means it can handle a variety of small trailers such as single-axle utility trailers, canoe and kayak trailers, dirt bike trailers and more. It can also accept a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack, making it a very useful addition to cars with limited cargo space. Class 1 hitches feature a 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" receiver tube opening and are typically mounted on compact cars, full-size cars and some smaller crossover SUVs, minivans and compact SUVs. It features a square or round tube frame and comes with a hitch pin and clip and all necessary installation hardware. Each CURT class 1 hitch is co-cured with a liquid Aquence coating and a high-gloss black powder coat finish that provide a lasting defense against rust, wear and harmful UV rays. Like all CURT receiver hitches, this class 1 hitch is made right here in the USA and is backed by a one-year finish warranty and a limited lifetime warranty.

Q: What's the difference between weight carrying & weight distribution? A: Weight Carrying is a towing situation where all of the tongue weight is carried directly on the rear of the tow vehicle and on the hitch. Weight Distribution is a towing situation whereby use of a weight distributing hitch, some or all of the tongue weight is evenly distributed throughout from the rear to the front of the tow vehicle.

Q: What is the difference between Round bar and Trunnion style weight distribution systems? A: Although aesthetically different, there are not any significant structural advantages to either system. Even though some have stated that the round bar system offers a smoother ride due to the fact that the bars are round and allow more flexibility as opposed to its rigidly square cousin. The Trunnion style hitch does offer more ground clearance (1-3" depending on manufacturer) which can be very helpful when using a tow vehicle that already is rather low to the ground. Both hitches will need to be greased in the mounting locations to decrease wear and tear on the head and bars.

Q: Can I substitute the supplied hardware for a hitch with something else? A: Unless authorized by a professional installer or manufacturer of the product, substituting hardware that is supplied with the hitch is not recommended. Supplied hardware is tested to meet the capacity of the hitch, and substituting it out without authorization could void your warranty and cause the hitch to fail.

Q: Can I weld my hitch to the frame? A: Never weld a hitch to the frame unless specified by the hitch manufacturer. All welding should be done by a certified professional. Improper welds can weaken both the hitch and the frame of your vehicle.

Q: Are these products brand new, blemished, or refurbished? A: We carry only brand new, quality control inspected, first line products!

Q: Who handles the warranty? A: We at Overstock Accessories will handle all aspects of your warranty claim for you. Give us the details and we will work with the manufacturer to get you a speedy resolution.

Q: How can I trust the company who manufactures this product will not go out of business? A: We only sell from reputable manufacturers who have been in the automotive industry for many years. We are so confident that we will place our own name on the line to back up the quality of product you will receive. A full manufacturer's warranty is never compromised.
