Viewing Stones in the west, these unique and colorful natural collector stones
were formed hundreds of millions of years ago during the Paleozoic era. Guohua
stone is actually dendritic (a greek word meaning tree) siltstone or petrified
mud and was discovered in the 1970s in southern China. As the silt from ancient
rivers and lakes settle and harden into rock over millions of years, the natural
sediment and color patterns become embedded when water rich in manganese and
iron seep along fissures or fractures during formation. It comes with a custom
base."
Dendritic Jasper, from Guangxi Province, China. One of Nature's many wonders, it shows minerals crystalized in dendritic form in unique patterns that make the stone look like a painting. The color is natural and the stone has been cut, polished on both sides and coated with lacquer. It is mounted (glued on) on a wooden display stand. Makes a wonderful viewing and conversational piece.
