Royal Doulton Charles Simpson Hunt Scene “Over The Grass” Dinner Plate 1942

Gorgeous Hunt Scene Plate Designed by Charles Simpson and made in England by Royal Doulton.

This plate has an actual diameter of approx. 9 ¾"

The vibrant red jackets appear to be hand painted. Not sure about the rest – but no tiny dots like you seem under magnification on most transferware

Signed “Charles Simpson”.

Has the stamped Royal Doulton mark on the back.  I believe this mark was introduced in 1932.

There is also a handwritten number in blue, “D485” (? Not sure of the number) and impressed “12-42” (December 1942?)

No chips, stains, or cracks. Has fine glaze crazing, and scratches to the glaze as well in certain areas.  You can see all of these imperfections in the photos.

A lovely piece for the Thoroughbred Horse enthusiast, connoisseur of Hunters and Jumpers, Fox Hunt fan, or lover of Fox Hounds!

Beautiful pastel shades, punctuated with the white and red riding habits.
