Here we have a Stunning example of the C. 1905 18s Elgin Veritas Grade 274 21 jewel Pocket Watch with a very rare and unique Montgomery dial. The watch is cased in what I believe to be the original case to the movement which is a Defiance Base Metal case that is in stunning condition (see pictures). The Movement is a 21 jewel Veritas Grade 274 in perfect running order keeping excellent time. Now for the dial which is an original Mongomery dial with 3 O'clock seconds fitted to this movement so it could go into an open faced case when it was purchased new from what I have found it is an extremely rare dial variation from Montgomery the only other example I could find was on a watch from the DeMesy & Shugart Part II Collection "The Cooksy Shugart & Joe De Mesy Collection of Rare and Unique Watches" which was offered by Ashland Investments many years ago. You can google search Elgin 274 with 3 O'clock seconds it is item #14 in the catalogue. The dial on the watch I am offering is in excellent shape no cracks or chips just a very crisp dial (see pictures). If you are interested in this watch and are a collector you know how unique this watch is so I wont bore you with any else except to use my pictures as the best description.
