Antique Ernst Kreusler Violin w/ German Bow in Hard Case

Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself.

Beautiful looking violin here. This is a German violin. The label says, "Meister-Geige, Copy of, Antonius Stradivarius, Handmade by, Ernst Kreusler, Sachsen, Made in Germany". The violin probably dates to the early 1900s.

The violin has a one piece belly (if a two piece belly it is put together very very well), and one piece back. There are no hairline crack or repairs on the belly or back of this violin to report to you.

The violin does have a few finish losses on the belly most notably where the fine tuner of the tailpiece made contact with the belly.

The sound post is in place, all the beaks are intact. The four tuner pegs are in place. No cracks or repairs up by the tuner holes. The violin is still soundly glued together, as are the sides to the soundboard and back. The graining on the violin, along with the varnish give it a great look. F holes are very intricately carved as is the scrolling at the top of the neck. Neck is securely attached to the body of the violin.

Nice ebony key board on the violin with no ridges that would affect playability. The nut is not in place. Nice tailpiece with a mother of pearl diamond insert, and the end button are with the violin. Only 3 strings on the violin. Just snugged them up without the nut for the pics. The strings will be removed and the bridge stored away when the violin is shipped to you.

The violin is 23-3/8" long in total, 14.25" long by the body, 8-1/8" wide by lower bout, and 6-5/8" by the upper bout. The violin comes with a bow that has a six sided shaft. Nice camber, not warped, no hairlines or repairs. The bow has "Germany" engraved on it. Metal winding is coming off of the bow. Nice frog, the mother of pearl is in place on both sides and the bottom of it.

The violin case is pretty elegant on the inside. Has a zip up protective section sewed into it that zips over the top of the violin. Inside of case is still in pretty good condition. Not musty smelling. Outside of case shows some finish loss.

This musical instrument is not represented to be in playing condition. There most likely will need to be refurbishing done to make this instrument playable again. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.

No APO/FPO delivery.

Items will be shipped via USPS or UPS Ground, based on the buyer's preference.

Shipped on the same or next business day following receipt of full payment.
UPS/USPS tracking number will be provided.

Shipping includes the cost of insurance, where applicable.
Special shipping requests can be communicated and agreed upon at the time of sale.
A separate handling charge may apply to certain items that require additional packaging in order to ensure safe shipping. Please refer to the individual listings to see if a handling charge applies.

If an item is shipped to a country outside of the United States, the buyer is responsible for any brokerage, tariffs, taxes, customs, or other charges imposed by that country. The seller reserves the right to choose the international shipping carrier based on shipping method selected at the time of payment. The seller will not understate the value of any item on customs forms.

If you purchase or win more than one auction in which the items can safely be shipped together, we will send you a combined invoice.

Returns Policy

Returns are accepted by seller within 14 days of receipt of item by buyer, where an item is not as described. The Buyer will be assessed a $75 restocking fee should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason.
Please note that a restocking fee is charged to to cover costs related to the loss of listing time and other potential sales, plus the amount of care and time that goes into preparing our unique and fragile items for shipping.
In accordance with eBay's Buyer Protection Program, the purchase price plus original shipping cost will be refunded to the buyer once the item has been received by the seller, minus the $75 restocking fee noted.
Buyer would pay for the return shipping cost and any applicable insurance cost (item is the buyer's financial responsibility until the item is safely returned to the seller by shipper).
