Silver Pair Cased Verge Pocket Watch with calendar Taylor Perth  HM 1788 
The gilt fusee movement with verge escapement, signed and numbered 795, 
with turned pillars and pierced, engraved balance cock.  
Gilt minute and hour hands and a central gilt calendar hand pointing to the date on the chapter ring.  
Enamel dial in nice condition with Arabic quarter numerals and Roman 5 minute numerals, 
enclosed under its original bulls eye, domed glass. 
Both cases with the  Birmingham silver  hallmark for 1788. Case makers mark HH. 
The outer case 50mm diameter, 26mm thick, over the glass. 
We have just had the movement serviced, it is in good going order and has its winding key. 
In the outer case are 8 watchmakers papers, one from Perth 
the other 7 from the same watchmaker in Pitlochry.  
Maker listed, Joseph Taylor, Perth, Scotland 1774-90. 
He was apprenticed to his grandfather, also Joseph.
