A good Georgian covered glass butter dish, c1800.
Base and lid are original to each other.
Hand blown with a star cut base, with plenty of wear marks evident.
Base has a row of veritcal comb flute cutting around the bottom edge, the bowl rising to a scallped rim, again with additional cutting decoration.
The lid is panel cut towards the top, with a facet cut knop.
Nice greyish tinge to the metal, and lots of striations from the making visible.
