This iconic Nikon lens dates to about 1971 (s/n 233265).

The photo world was shocked when Nikon did not continue this lens into the AI lineup in 1977.

Instead, Nikon released the inferior 85mm f/2 lens.

As a result, many of these Nikkor-H 85/1.8 lenses were sent in to Nikon for factory AI conversion.

This one of those lenses. 

It's perfect for your post-1977 Nikon bodies (F2AS, F2A, F3 etc) as well as all pre-1977 bodies (Nikon F, Nikkormat series).

It has some wear; patina, really.

It works fine.

Filter ring has very slight ding but filter and hood screw on fine.

If you look closely under harsh light, the front element has some very small, fine marks centrally.  This will not affect imaging in any way.

Most importantly, no fungus or haze.

Diaphragm blades are clean, dry and snappy.

Focusing is smooth all the way.

Aperture ring turns easily with crisp clicks.
