Import Duties, Brokerage Fees, Custom Inspections
We ship all items using “Canada Post”, which saves brokerage fees when an item is shipped to the USA. (Brokerage fees are not taxes. They are fees charged to the receiver of a shipment to cover the cost of filling out customs' paper work). “Canada Post” and USPS have an agreement not to charge brokerage fees to receivers from Canada or the US.) When a shipment crosses a border it might get examined which can cause delays, we are NOT responsible for these delays. Also, when entering a country, the receiving country can charge import duties or taxes, we are not responsible for these extra fees being charged. The sender (ME) has to give the sold item a value when shipping outside the country. This is for both tax and insurance purposes. When we fill out the paperwork we give the true value of the item, ex  you buy a laptop for $100 free shipping. We would declare roughly the value of the laptop as $60. This is due to an actual shipping and handling cost of $40 (we do pay for shipping).:
