Well made late 1977 Japanese copy of a fretless Fender Jazz Bass by Aria. Anyone who knows about these will know they were extremely well made copies, a real 'lawsuit model'!

It has been modified at some point to have one active Schaller JB bridge pickup and a (roughly routed) cavity made in the back to house the 9v battery. Condition overall is how you would expect from an old, bass, plenty of knocks and scrapes and one knob is missing but that just adds to the instrument's raw character.

Guide side markers for the frets have been drawn on the side of the neck to aid playing as anyone who has played a fretless bass will tell you, it can be hard to place your fingers in the right places sometimes. Once you master it however, wonderfully subltle and smooth jazz tones can be achieved with this bass!
