This pentode was the standard heart of many V72 broadcast and recording preamps in Europe through the mid 1950s and early 60s.

These kinds of tubes are tested on a B&K 707 mutual conductance tube checker. The tester was recently calibrated. As is probably obvious, I sell no tubes that fail the shorts or grid emission test (i.e., everything checks out as good for those tests). The BK 700 series tests "good" with no "official" Gm numbers in the Jet-check section for this type of tube (its result was 109).

Remember, the best test for a tube is to simply employ it within a circuit!
