"This Hitachi 12AX7 tube really gives my old Fender Super Champ that extra little kick. I bought it as a spare tube for my Hitachi 7025, and lo and behold this 12AX7 is just as good as my 7025. These tubes are built differently but Hitachi tubes seem to have almost the same "fingerprint".
It may not be perfect for everyone, especially for those wanting warm and creamy Fender tone, but in high gain amps, and if you play harder rock it's perfect. These tubes "sing".
A little bright, maybe, and with high output. It distorts wonderfully.
You can almost play Heavy Rock without even switching to the Super Champ's lead channel. That's to me a good thing.

Japanese tubes are a bit "under the tube radar" and can still be found at reasonable prices. I've compared this tube to a lot of other tubes, NOS and new ones, and it sounds incredibly good for the price.
To me it's just as good as eg a ... (Tungsram) 7025. One of my other favourites.
Tonally a little brighter and angrier but that's what I'm looking for. Hitachi's seem to have a long life span and are really sturdy and with zero microphony. In small combo's they are dead quiet."

Descriptions of tubes in our listings as having a certain 'tone' or being 'quiet' are descriptions of that tube type in general, and not the specific tube in the listing.  Tubes are ONLY considered 'defective' if they arrive broken or shorted (no sound).  Terms like 'microphonic,' 'hums' or 'noisy' are subjective descriptions (since a tube will perform differently in every circuit), and in no way constitute a 'defective' item or an 'item not as described'.  A tube is considered 'item not as described' ONLY when you receive a different brand or type of tube than what was purchased.  Please see RETURN POLICY BELOW.
RETURN POLICY
Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily revise our Return Procedure, since eBay has changed it's policy and is now actually penalizing sellers for accepting returns by lowering their Seller Standings and up-charging 20% on Sellers Fees.   With this new policy, they have also circumvented the important communication and relationship between sellers like us and our VALUED CUSTOMERS when dealing with returns.  
As a result, we are forced to accept returns only if you contact us FIRST for an RMA Number using "Contact Seller > I have a question about using my item or want to send the seller a message."  Explain the problem, and we will give you return instructions.  Opening a Return Request and choosing 'It's Defective' or 'Item Doesn't Match the Listing' may result in a 45-day delay to the return because eBay will automatically open a 'Return claim.'  As long as you contact us before ticking some box about a defective or not as described item, we will be fair with you as we always have, quickly refund your money for any reason, and even cover your domestic return shipping.  Thank you for your time and consideration.

Testing – How We’re Different

We carefully screen all tubes we sell for authenticity, and also listen to the tubes to judge sound quality.  We discard 20-25% of tubes other sellers may call “good,” if they don’t pass our screening standards.  All pre-amp tubes are tested for emissions, shorts, gas, and leaks on high-quality, calibrated Mutual Conductance tube testers with line level adjustment, to tweak unit calibration for every tube we test.  And whenever possible, we include photos of the test results of your tube so you can see for yourself.  Be certain that you are purchasing quality, premium items.

While we offer an unconditional money-back guarantee for every tube we sell, we cannot guarantee that you will get the same test results at home, since there are too many variables involved with vintage tube testing, which is more of an art than a science. (For example, differing home voltages can give different readings on the same tube with the same brand and same model of tube tester). You can return a tube for any reason.

COMBINED SHIPPING within the United States for up to 5 tubes via USPS First Class Mail.  Most packages will arrive in 2-3 days within the Continental United States.  Our stated processing time is 2 Business Days, although we ship packages out the next day whenever possible.  International Shipping is via first Class Mail for a Calculated-rate fee for up to 5 pre-amp tubes. Packages shipped by First Class Mail will usually arrive in Europe within 7-12 days, and to Latin America within 7-18 days depending on your Country’s Customs Regulations.
