Vintage Waterbury Crystal Regulator Clock Porcelain Face Faux Lead Pendulum Runs & Strikes
Item Description
Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US
customers!
Here is a beautiful Antique Waterbury Mantel Clock for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!
Offered here is a 100 year old Waterbury Crystal Regulator clock with a case that still has a very nice gold lacquer finish. The case was most likely re-laquered since it was new. The clock was made in the 1910s to early 1920s period.
Nice looking movement, glass, and case on this Waterbury Clock. Waterbury clocks were made in Waterbury, CT in the USA.
The brass clock case is all there. No dents, cracks or repairs. The bronze case shows hardly any some finish loss and minor corrosion. Both the front and rear doors are on their hinges and securely attached to the case. The pulls and latches for both doors are also in place. The beveled glass is intact on all four sides, no cracks or blistering which makes this piece just that much more special. Very small piece of the beveled glass is missing on the left side beveled glass on the right top, really have to look very hard to see it.
The clock face is very eye catching. The porcelain face is intact, no hairlines. Even the center plate of the clock is porcelain. The open escapement really adds to the beauty of this clock. The escapement has green and red paint on the pieces around the open escapement. The brass grommets are still in place on the clock face. Beautiful gold trim ring around the face. The clock hands match and look appropriate to this clock model.
Nice looking brass movement here with a wire gong. The back plate of the movement has "A. 1." on it. Nice sound to the strike. Strikes once on the half hour and the number of hours on the hour. The clock has a faux lead pendulum that is all intact with the end screws, etch. Both springs feel sound when keyed. The clock will come with a vintage wind key. So selling this clock in running and striking condition.
The Waterbury Clock stands 10-15/16" tall, by 7" across, by 5.5" wide. The clock face is 3-7/8" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. The pictures provided both complement and
supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as
well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little
imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description. Only look at the pics thru a PC or laptop, as
the Ebay smart phone and IPad system does not provide you with the ability to
zoom in within the pics.
As can be expected
when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after
shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very
delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks
before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the
patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not
our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any
questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
Make
sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before
deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, there is a 10% restocking fee to do so. So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. Don't be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions!
