Amazing 1966 Fender P Bass in original Olympic White finish w/ tortoise shell pickguard. Nothing has been changed or modified on this instrument - It's 100% original down to the last screw and complete with both the original chrome covers, the tugbar and case! The original Olympic White finish has yellowed over the years, and it has some finish wear, dings and scratches here and there, but overall very nice condition for being 50 years old! The original pickups are very strong and loud, and the bass sounds incredible... just how a vintage P Bass should sound! No issues, no cracks, no mods, no repairs.
The neck is straight, truss rod works great and the action is nice and low, with SUPERB playability all across the board. No dead or buzzy notes anywhere. I have literally sold hundreds of vintage Fender basses over the last 3 decades, and this bass is one of the best I've had in every regard. Period. It's also strung with brand new ($80) Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds. The frets are all original and in great shape with lots of life left. The neck is early enough to still have the smaller, vintage-size frets (which they went to the larger, jumbo frets about a month after this neck was made!)... that means this bass still has all of the wonderful pre-CBS feel!

- Pot Codes: 137-660X. The volume pot code is obscured by the original solder, but it's identical to the tone pot (with same amount age and patina) and every solder joint in this bass is original and untouched!
- Pickups: Correct, original green bobbins and original heavy Formvar windings and the common "X" pencil marking under the original lacquer coating (no hand-written date is very typical of this era).
- Very lightweight at only 8.4 lbs!
Original case is in good structural condition, but some of the tolex and leather is missing on the ends, it has a few stickers on it, and the Fender logo is broken off... but it's original, and it does its job fine.
