KOBO GLO HD BASED TACTICAL GLIDE COMPUTER - GPS
Kobo Glo HD e-ink reader running XCSoar 6.8.6, preloaded with
Readability in full sunlight and great software makes it a truly impressive piece of kit for any gliding activity. It is a strong alternative to a factory built units that cost 3 times more and are still difficult to read in sunlight.
Professionally converted using high quality Global Top GMS-G6 GPS + GLONASS chip (also known as "Titan 2").
Side by side comparison shows how GMS-G6 can lock on 7 more satellites than “good, old MLR”. This is partly due to receiving signal simultaneously from GPS and GLONASS satellites, but also due to a high gain of the receiver. All this helps to improve accuracy in difficult conditions which I tried to demonstrate by placing both the units under a large tree canopy.
This unit is a great solution for pilots who want to use it alongside classic vario, as it doesn’t have barometric sensor or audio feedback. It is particularly suitable for glider pilots.
