If the watch is left untouched for approx. 24 hours, the hands will stop moving to minimize the electrical energy consumed. Though the hands stop, the built in IC continues to keep the time. To use the watch again, swinging it several times will awaken it. The hands will move quickly to indicate the current time, and resume normal operation. In a case that the fully charged watch enters the power saver mode, the time relay function of the watch remains operable for approximately 4 years. 

Once set, the calendar automatically adjusts for odd and even months including February of leap years. So you don't need to adjust the date every month.
