On October 4,1891, goldsmith Friedrich Wilhelm Kraemer opened a jewelry and watch store on the main street of the German town Saarbrucken. He was a descendant of a craftsman family that had been living in Saarbrucken for over 300 years. In 1939 Gerd Hofer married into their family.Two sons were born. In 1956 one son Gerd Hofer Jr. joined the family business and began an internship in Paris,France with the brands Boeres, Pere et Fils and Universal Geneve. His enthusiasm for the world of watches took over and in 1965 he began working for the Milus watch company. In 1993 he aquired and revived the Nivrel brand. We are proud to add the Nivrel name to our list of timepieces we carry. "A German Watch with a Swiss Heart" Nivrel timepieces are made and assembled in the German town of Saarbruecken using only German manufactured parts. Movements are SWISS MADE. This great vintage looking piece in a 42mm x 12.5mm, 316L brushed SS case, will surely look bold on the wrist. The Coeur de la Sarre is modeled after those wonderful pieces of past generations. This is a LIMITED EDITION of 200 pieces to mark the 20th anniversary of NIVREL in Saarland. There are four variations of this model representing the four cities in the Saar region. Saarbrucken, Saarlouis, Saargemund and Saarebourg. This is the Sarrebruck model!! The wonderfully designed sunray cream dial with silver-tone Arabic numerals and indices with superluminova C3 is very well designed and will help to see the time in low light conditions (see pic). Losange hands with superluminova C3 really sets off this great dial. The hardened mineral crystal mimics the plexiglas crystals of old. Even gives the same optics the older crystals did. Nice signed crown completes this case! Inside this timepiece ticks away a 25 jewel SWISS MADE ETA 2824-2 automatic movement with Swiss lever escapement, beating at 28,800 A/h and a power reserve of 38 hours. The screwdown stainless steel caseback will keep this piece water resistant to a depth of 50 meters! All this will attach to your wrist with a Black handmade heavy duty leather strap with SS Nivrel buckle!!!
