VIRTUA RACING SAMPLE/SHOP DEMO:
You are looking at a real enigma as far as Mega Drive games go. From what I can work out this is a demonstration cart (translation from German-Vorfuhrmodul) which was probably used in stores or at a convention. I have done some research and it looks like there is one other cart known to exist and is part of a collection in Germany, http://home.arcor.de/mattyxb/Website/cSega.html#md. There has also been some talk about kit on forums such as Digital Press.
The cart itself is far smaller than the standard VR release and both the artwork and the cart label are black and white. They are not factory produced, in fact the cart sticker is stuck over an existing cart from another game (looks like Jurassic Park). This sort of points to the fact that it was made in house at Sega Europe. The cart is not the known larger VR cart that was released in all territories, it is the same size as a standard Mega Drive cart, the cart is not secured with Hex screws but instead has been glued together, this suggests that the pcb board is not standard. Hard to tell as the only way of knowing would be to open it, as it is glued I don't want to risk damaging it by trying to bust it open. I know some doubters will feel that this is a pirate or home made however with evidence of at least one other and the German connection it seems legit to me.
Also included in this lot is a promo key ring and also 4 promo post cards which were given away with the UK Sega Magazine.
Great lot for a collector and one of my last great Mega Drive items!
I am trimming my collection so be sure to check out my other games.
I am fairly strict with my grading which is as follows New=brand new and sealed /Mint=as new/Very Good=one or two minor flaws a crease or bend for example/Good=a number of flaws/Acceptable=many flaws. A grading will also include a description; I will be as honest and as accurate as possible. (However please keep in mind that this is my judgement and not yours it therefore may differ) so if you are not sure about bidding please E mail for additional info and pictures.
Due to an increase in non paying bidders anyone with less than a 10 feedback or 90% +VE will need to E Mail before bidding stating their intent to pay and payment method. Sorry to do this, but there are a few who spoil it for the rest.
I will ship Worldwide, buyer must pay exact shipping (please E Mail me for shipping quote before you bid so there are no nasty surprises.). All international orders will be dispatched by International Tracked & Signed for to ensure they are trackable (Standard Airmail on request if agreed in advance). You may think that postage costs are high but recent Royal Mail increases and Ebay restrictions means that on most postage costs I actually lose money!!! This will ship as a small parcel. International buyers must pay via PAYPAL only. Please keep in mind that I am a collector and this is not my business therefore it may take me a few days to get to the Post Office, don’t worry you will receive your game well packed as soon as it is possible.
