Description

As described on vintagehofner:

"For the boys in the big time" - a thumping 14 watts and tremolo, generated by EF86 (3), ECC82(1), ECC83 (1), EL84 (2) and EZ81 (1) and a 12" speaker (Goodmans Audiom 60 in most I've come across) to deafen the audience. Size 22" x 19" x 10.1/4", control panel mounted in a slanting rear-facing portion of the top having 3 inputs in a triangular format and an impressive array of 6 control knobs (vol Ch1, vol Ch 2 & 3, trem speed & depth, bass & treble) plus a very large pilot lamp. Footswitch included for 52 gns, serious money in the early 60's.
(Note - A Selmer Stadium amplifier was used fairly intensively by the Beatles in their Hamburg days, before they went over to exclusively Vox. It was also The Shadows main amplifier up until about May 1960, when they also changed their allegiance to Vox.)

Cosmetic Inspection

This amp is in great condition for its age, it has the usual bumps / scrapes which is to be expected on a 1950's amp.

Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of our description.

Service History

We pride ourselves on the inspection, authentication, and service of each amplifier to UK standards and regulations.

Please note that it is the philosophy of The Music Locker to keep all amplifiers as original as possible, only changing original components when absolutely necessary. This includes valves, capacitors, transformers, potentiometers, etc. This gives the buyer the option of tailoring to their exact needs, and may mean that the amplifier is not operating at optimum performance levels. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the amplifier in more depth upon receiving. The Music Locker cannot accept responsibility for any costs of refurbishment to a standard different to the one advertised.

Originality

In our opinion, the important parts of this amplifier are original, with a few internal components changed.
