Description: 

The item up for bids is a set of 12 Raynaud dinner plates in the elegant Koutani pattern.  Koutani is inspired by traditional motifs of Chinese iconography and it features colorful concentric bands of hand-painted peonies and plum trees in bloom.  The flowers are accented with gold highlights.  It is an absolutely stunning pattern.  The plates are signed with the blue A. Raynaud & Co. Limoges, France cipher, and a description of the pattern in French: “Decor concentrique aux couleurs vives rehaussé d'or dans lequel on reconnait les motifs traditionnels de l'iconographie chinoise, pruniers en fleurs et pivoines epanouies.”  It is a great set of Koutani plates and they are in exceptional condition, have some fun and bid!

Condition:

The condition is excellent vintage.  There are no chips, cracks, or crazing.  The surfaces are glossy and smooth, the colors are excellent, and the gold detailing is gorgeous.  There are no knife cuts or utensil damages.  There is very slight handling wear.    The pictures are the best indicator as to condition, please use the zoom feature and check them out.

They measure about 10 3/4” in diameter.
