GREEN AMETHYST

  Green Amethyst Crystals are known as Prasiolite or Praseolite

Most green amethyst crystals will have been a purple colour at some point in their lifetime. This is due to green amethysts occurring from a heat transfer. Most natural green amethysts were a purple amethyst, which were then heated by either volcanic activity or the natural heating of the earth’s core. It is possible to create manmade green coloured amethysts by heat treatment. It is important that you keep these gemstones away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight as this can easily affect the colour of the stones.

As green amethyst is part of the quartz crystal family, it is able to magnify energy. It is especially good for using in meditation along side other crystals. Wearing green amethyst pendants is possibly the most powerful option as it means the crystal is kept very close to the heart. Green amethysts stimulate psychic growth within the wearer and allows connection with those on another plane of existence.
