This is a front seam, fixed bale, WWII US M1 Helmet. With a stamp of 278B, this helmet was produced in August of 1942. 

The liner is a 1963 dated Vietnam War liner. The condition of the helmet pot matches the liner. The pot must have been reissued during the Vietnam war with the liner. Both are in nice, combat used condition.
