Early and rare hand cranked Singer 66K made in Scotland in 1912
Serial No. F3168665

I recently acquired a collection of sewing machines from an estate sale in Cheshire and this handsome machine was amongst them.
At 105 years of age this antique machine is in remarkably good condition with everything appearing working as it should.

The 66K is a heavy duty machine which was used both domestically and commercially. Its a full size machine (the 99K is for example 3/4 of its size) and very heavy, consequently most were used in treadle tables so hand cranked versions are quite scarce. They were produced from 1907 till 1939 so this 1912 model is an early one.
They are quite happy stitching everything from fine materials up to heavy canvas and leather.

Cosmetically this example is in very clean honest order with remarkably little wear to the rich black enamel and wonderful Lotus Flower decals.
The bentwood case is generally in excellent order too but does have a little damage to one side where it seems that someone has tried to push the lid down without folding back the crank handle first.

Any questions message me and please take a look at my other listings for more old sewing machines and other interesting vintage items.

Please note that vintage items will show signs of wear commensurate with their years so please study the pictures as they form part of the item description.
