Nice antique Art Deco style cast iron heat register grate grille with louvers.  This wonderful old register has a very attractive pattern. The unit includes the cover plate and a louver assembly underneath.  The unit is in great shape but needs a cleaning and has some mild surface rusting.  The louvers are in good working order and are controlled by a thumb-slide mechanism.  The top of the grille measures approx. 9 3/4"  X 11 3/4". From the front to back with louvers open it measures about 3".  The grille fits an opening of about 8" X 10".

With some cleaning vent would be a nice addition to your home.
