From Sikkens, the trusted name in high quality wood care products, comes this easy to use 250ml wood joint sealer for use on interior wood joints to help prevent water ingress damage.

This joint sealer has a variety of applications around the home as a wood joint sealer. Use it during the laying of laminate/wood flooring in the home to help prevent water damage from spillages, mopping, splashes and general moisture. Ideal for areas within the home prone to water contact near sinks, showers, baths and toilet floors that can cause damage to wood and laminate floor joints as illustrated in the final photograph.

Usage:

After shaking the bottle well, cut the nozzle to the desired diameter opening and then using light squeezing pressure, create a thin bead of sealant by running the nozzle along the locking edge of laminate flooring or tongue/groove during the laying of the floor. Then fit the boards together to form a sealed joint. Wipe away any excess using a damp cloth. The sealant dries clear to create an invisible barrier to help guard against water damage. Whilst primarily a sealant it also has light adhesive properties to assist the joints in remaining strong whilst allowing the floor to be dismantled with relative ease if required.

Coverage and temperature:

Dependant upon the depth of the joint, one 250ml bottle will cover 10-15 metres of joint lengths. The sealant should not be thinned down to increase coverage.

Apply at a temperature between 15c to 25c. Drying time is 30 - 60 minutes dependant upon application. Ensure the room is well ventilated during application and drying process.

Cleaning and storage:

Clean equipment directly after use with warm water. A small amount of washing up liquid may assist.

Opened bottles should be sealed using the rubber cap provided and should be stored out of the reach of children and at a temperature 5c - 30c. Entirely empty packaging can be disposed of in recycling facilities. Any liquid waste should be disposed of in accordance with your local authority.
