SUMMARY

Offered is a previously worn BAUME & MERCIER CAPELAND man's chronograph in polished stainless steel. This is a solid piece with satisfying heft that telegraphs luxury and quality.  Baume & Mercier is one of the worlds premium watch companies and Capeland has been Baume & Mercier's premium watch now for a number of years. With the Valjoux 7750 movement, this watch is a no-brainer. No box, no papers, and no tags. Just a beautiful watch.

I try my best to describe my items as accurately as possible.  However, descriptive terms are often open to individual interpretation.  Your best guide to the watch’s condition will be the many detailed high resolution photographs provided to help you make your evaluation.

DETAILS

DIAL: 

Black with three sub-dials and a date window at 3:00. The numbers and hands are silver in color.

CRYSTAL:

Sapphire crystal,which is the hardest mineral next to diamond.

BEZEL, CASE, AND BACK: 

All polished stainless steel, with a screw down back.

BAND:

Polished stainless steel with a butterfly clasp.

CROWN:  

Ribbed signed stainless steel screw down with two steel pushers above and below for chrono functions.

SIZE:   

40mm across the top, not including the crown, 45mm from lug-tip to lug-tip with 20mm lugs. The watch fits my 7.5" wrist comfortably with a little slack.  It can be reduced in size by removing links.

MOVEMENT:  

Valjoux 7750 Swiss automatic. This is an upgrade movement from the standard ETAs.

CONDITION:

This is a pre-worn watch that looks to be in almost new condition.  Well, there may be a quibble about he "new" condition part, but it is certainly in beautiful condition. 

ERRATA:

A word about Quartz watches and batteries: I check all my watches for a working battery before I list and before I ship and I will replace it if it is not working.  Even though I store my watches with the crown pulled out, there may be occasions a buyer might receive a watch only to have the battery run down soon after. Even a new watch that has been sitting on the shelf for a while will discharge the battery over time. I have no way of knowing the age of a battery in any watch unless I have personally replaced it. Battery replacement is the sole responsibility of the buyer.

A word about mechanical watches: All mechanical watches, whether manual wind or automatic wind, will need periodic servicing simply due to the friction of its moving parts. Generally, I do not know the service history of pre-owned watches I sell, unless I personally have had the watch serviced. I time all watches for at least 24 hours prior to listing and 12 hours prior to shipment. If it doesn't maintain acceptable accuracy I don't list it or I won't ship it and the buyer will receive a refund.
