Seagate Backup Plus 4TB Portable External Hard Drive (Red Case STDR4000902)

Used Information:

This is a sparingly used external hard drive, about a year old, with the largest capacity currently available in a 2.5” hard drive. I have used it for archival storage of photos and videos. I am now selling it to gain the extra capacity of 5TB drives from the same family. The drive has just been tested by me in two ways (1) Drive Genius 5.0 found no bad sectors in a complete physical scan, and (2) Mac OSX Drive Utility completed a twice-over security overwrite of zeros in all sectors. Neither program found any physical errors or dead sectors. (Please note, however, that all HD’s will fail some day; and, I can offer no guarantees about the future.) The drive is presently formatted for Mac OSX, although it may be easily re-formatted/initialized for Windows NTFS or XFAT. It is powered via USB 3.0 and does not require an independent power supply. An 18” USB 3.0 cable is included.

Comparison Shopping:  Amazon lists the Red case version of this drive for $109.99+tax new and >$93.49+tax used. Currently formatted for OSX, but may be reformatted/initialized for Windows NTFS, XFAT, or FAT.
