An antique Cummins Initial Perforating Machine used to punch out initials in hat bands2. It is made of solid cast iron and features a rotating letter and large wooden handle. The latest patent date is 1892. Unlike many similar machines I have seen, this one has a large cast iron base which makes it an awesome display piece.

Measures about 17" with a 10.5" base. I tried punching out a few numbers and it seemed to work well.

The machine was very dusty when I found it but other than a dusting I have left it untouched. The surface shows some rust and paint loss.
