DROPS Alpaca is a lovely yarn spun from 100% alpaca. The alpaca fiber is untreated, which means that it is only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment prior to the dyeing. This highlights the fiber’s natural properties, while it also provides a better shape and texture quality.
This quality is spun from 3 strands with an extra twist to provide a durable surface, and it’s available in many colours, from the vibrant to the more subdued. Solid, uncoloured eco, natural and mixed tones. The last are manufactured by carding the colours together before spinning, which gives it a mix effect.
DROPS Alpaca has a large, comprehensive and varied range of patterns available in the DROPS collection. Garments made in this yarn are lightweight and comfortable, super soft directly on the skin, and have a nice characteristic sheen.

LITTLE NOTE FROM ME ABOUT THIS YARN:
There are many different grades of alpaca wool, and the wool used to make this yarn is beyond the highest standard - Extra Fine. The hair is so fine makes the yarn heavenly soft, incredibly warm and breathable. The superb quality and amazing price converted everyone once tried. It's a winter classic that you will come back to year after year.
Simply double it up if you want to use it as aran/worsted weight, it blends in so beautifully that you can not tell it's actually 2 strands.
For glistering evening lace shawl, or extra silky for new born, why not try "baby alpaca silk"? They are made of 70% baby alpaca and 30% mulberry silk, the shine from mulberry silk and cashmere like soft warmness from baby alpaca is match made in heaven.
