OK, this is a prized mono copy of Pet Sounds in pretty decent shape. It is marked F19/F21, suggesting it is among the very earliest presses (see 6th and 7th photos). It is a Scranton press, as demonstrated by the triangle stamped on the record and the number 3 next to the RIAA symbol (picture 8). It is in its original shrink, which is indeed fantastic but there is one caveat to that - someone who was not able to foresee how valuable Pet Sounds records would become in the future put a staple mark in the top left corner (pictures 9 and 10). As can be seen this allowed just a little bit of the outside world into the Pet Sounds shrink wrap cocoon and left a tiny (smaller than a small pea) stain on the back of the jacket. If you take a look at the bottom left of the back of the jacket you will notice a little discoloration as well; this is simply due to the shrink wrap not entirely covering that bit. Other than that the jacket is cardboard gold. The vinyl itself, above all else, plays without interruption and sounds good. Upon examination of it there are maybe 4-5 light scratches but appearance-wise it is hampered more by those little markings records get from the paper sleeve. I reckon it's solid VG+ but it's a lot of money so feel free to ask questions, demand additional photos etc.

One other note - I typically ship off records media mail but will in this case be using Priority, I think we're all better off not having this thing in the hands of the USPS for very long.
