Hello,

You are looking at a fine example of Chinese craftsmanship/silversmithing. This late 19th or early 20th century hair pin in silver metal with good markings. The stem has two selenite dragons crawling up towards the coin mounted top with embellished design and the wording in Chinese on the exterior and in English on the reverse:

Kwang Tung Provence
1 Mace 44 Candareens

With facing serpant dragon in the centre of the coin

Measuring 5" long.

Such mint coins are being offered for sale on eBay for up to £660.

A fine collectors piece.
