The SEB Series is a cost-effective preamp solution for any instrument equipped with magnetic or piezo transducer pickups. With a +/- 12dB range for either two (treble/bass) or three (treble/middle/bass) bands of equalization, they are ready to install and will bring your passive pickups to life. Features include JS-KIE potentiometers (6mm shaft) and a blend potentiometer with a NO SOLDER terminal block for neck and bridge (N-GND-B) pickups. Simply remove for single pickup or pickup selector switch applications.

The SEB Series features a gain trim potentiometer mounted right on the circuit board (small blue cube) so you can make level adjustments based on the pickup(s) being used. The circuit board is 45L X 25W X 10D mm (1 3/4" X 1" X 7/8"). Manufactured using Surface Mount Technology (SMT), it is covered in epoxy to prevent damage and secure the wiring. Top quality components and meticulous soldering ensures noise free performance. The plastic case includes an adhesive pad for secure mounting. Powered by a 9V alkaline battery (not included) the circuit can handle up to 18V (2-9V in series) for increased headroom. The preamp will work with as little as 6V which gives you plenty of time before having to change the battery.
We suggest using pickups with similar outputs, either magnetic or piezoelectric, but not both together since the balance (blend) function is passive. Also our preamps were designed for use and work best with passive pickups. Although active pickups can be used we believe a preamp'ed signal going into another preamp is overkill and creates the opportunity for low level noise especially during recording. Also most active pickups have a low impedance output and our preamp's are designed with a high impedance input.
