Greetings.

Here's something special for dive watch fans. The 1970 Jacques Monnat Caribbean 1000m diver, which was made under a number of brand names including Jenny, Philip Watch and Doxa. At 42mm square (which wears much larger than round watches) this is a massive chunk of steel. This watch has been fully serviced a year ago by my Breitling trained master watchmaker. It features a turnable yellow bakelite bezel and screw-down crown. The dial It is in absolutely stellar condition, the black surface is shiny and the yellow markers are crisp and bright; It does show some light patina visible if turned at an angle. The bezel shows some wear; turning the watch at an angle, the bezel shows some bubbling which can be clearly seen in the photos. The crystal is new, and shows no crazing typical in diving watches. I have also included a great looking yellow holes racing strap which to me compliments the watch perfectly.

Case

Excellent+. Solid Stainless Steel. 42mm. Screw-down crown. Engraved Caribbean Triple Safe. The bezel has darkened some with age and shows some wear as seen.

Dial:

Excellent+. Gloss black with only the lightest patina. Yellow numerals pop.

Movement:

High Quality 25j Swiss Automatic movement, ETA 2452 recently overhauled, keeping good time. It is in cosmetically beautiful shape as well, but unfortunately I haven't been able to include a photograph since the case is complex and needs to be opened by a watchmaker.

Strap:

I have included a yellow holes racing strap.

Enjoy!

I've collected restored and sold antique wrist watches for the past twenty years. May you love your new watch as I have. See my other auctions for other rare and early pieces.
