Description of Item OfferedWe have to offer ONE (1) scale plastic model kit of the NASA Space Shuttle. Produced by Monogram Models as part of the YOUNG ASTRONAUT series of American spacecraft model kits, this promotion was planned to correlate with the upcoming flight of the Space Shuttle CHALLENGER with the first "Teacher in Space" - Christa McAuliffe (1948 - 1986). This Space Shuttle model was purchased NEW from the retailer in 1986 and was stored UNOPENED for the next 30 years. Now these kits of the promotional series have a special historical significance and value. This and other kits of this historic YOUNG ASTRONAUT series are a poignant reminder of the tragic events of January 28, 1986.

Specifics
- The NASA Space Shuttle scale model kit is packaged in a rectangular box and encased in a plastic shrink film. The packaging has never been opened. The lower left corner of the box promotes the YOUNG ASTRONAUTS with an enclosed FREE POSTER and a MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION. Another promo sticker on the outside of the shrink film advertises YOUNG ASTRONAUTS SWEEPSTAKES, where a lucky entrant might win a trip to the Kennedy Space Center.
- Condition of the model kit is VERY GOOD overall. There is a slight fading of color saturation, especially the yellows, on the box front face but it does not take away from the appearance of the quality color shuttle artwork. There are wrinkles in the cardboard of the box at the right end. This can be clearly seen in the photos. It is not a damaging crush or impact, but rather from being packed too tight into a moving box at one point.
- The balance of the model kit is free from cuts, punctures, tears or stains. Only a bit of superficial "dirt" remains on the outside of the shrink film. We leave that cleanup to the new owner to address.
- Buyers, before making your purchase, it is your responsibility to verify this the item you seek, and is suitable to meet your particular wants and needs. ShippingYour item will be shipped within ONE BUSINESS DAY of receiving your cleared payment (cutoff time 3:00 pm EST). We use several different carriers and freight classes, and will ship your item by the most effective method based on the logistics involved. Our default carriage is ground services, so your item will arrive 2 to 6 days after we ship. If Priority or Express service is desired (1 to 3 day transit), please indicate so along with your "Invoice Request" so we can issue an Invoice that reflects those shipping upcharges. Remember to "Request Invoice" so these accurate shipping charges are part of your Invoicing. UPS and FedEx both provide a basic $100.00 of insurance coverage. USPS only provides $50.00 and only with Priority services. We selectively choose aftermarket freight insurers, and we insure most shipments. The cost is NOT passed on to the Buyer, We consider the product (especially a damaged product) to be OUR asset until received by the Buyer in proper condition. YOU don't want damaged goods and neither do we. So we Insure shipments! Any items so large or heavy they require common carrier (trucking companies) are quoted and handled on a case by case basis.
Foreign Buyers please note: All foreign sales must use the GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM. We do not handle exports in-house at this time. The only other option is international Buyers who utilize an export handling company of their own choice.
