Here we have a great piece of tube history, the   WESTERN ELECTRIC VT-1Triode tube.

This rare used tube is in very good condition considering it is at least 90 years old! lived through World War 1 and still working! Circa 1916-1920.

The history of this tube is amazing considering that in its early stages Lee de Forest worked with Western Electric and later this tube would possibly be classed as the first mass produced Triode.

The metal base is engraved "SIGNAL CORPS VT-1 WESTERN ELECTRIC CO INC PAT IN USA 1-15-07 TWO PATENTS 2-18-08, 4-27-15 12-19-16 PAT. APPLIED FOR".

This tube shows magnificently and the glowing filament is just amazing. There is a little smoke in the glass and you may also notice that the glass is slightly off center in the base.

This tube was tested as a Triode using 2.5v filament voltage, not a full test for this tube type but a good safe test to get a gm reading.

The tube was tested on a TV7 Tube Tester.

All tubes are warmed up sufficiently and tested for all necessary tests as required per specs, ie Shorts, Gas, Visible flaws, rattles etc.

Note that slight variations in results are common even if multiple tube testers are used which are exactly the same model.

I have many Tube Testers but mainly use the TV-7D models for thier reliability, data and are recognised and understood worldwide.

We understand some tubes can have undetected and intermittent problems, so if the tubes do not function as described, just send them back for a full refund of purchase price.

As always...all items are extremely well packed. Double boxing, even triple boxing if needed.

All electrical restoration must be performed by qualified persons.
