Seth Thomas Tambour Mantel Clock Great Walnut Case Runs

Item Description

Check out this beautiful example of a probably 1920s to 1930s Seth Thomas Tambour clock.    This clock was just out to clock doc for servicing and runs great again!  The bezel and glass are not original to clock as old ones were gone.

Wood case on this one is awesome.  Check out the great raised scrolling at each end of the case.  The strike on this clock has that great classic sound where it just rings off into the distance.  Big Ben sound.  Strikes the hour and one strike at the half hour.  Clock face certainly shows a lot of wear most likely because the bezel and glass were gone.

The hands look to be original to clock.  Clock face door, latch and hinge are still intact.  Says "Made in USA" at the bottom of clock face.              

Dimensions of the clock are 9-3/8" high by 19.5" long by 5-7/8"" wide.  A key for the main springs comes with it, definitely not original.  Pendulum was with the clock.  Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.  

As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate.  If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear.  One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art.  They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks.   Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.

Shipping Policy

• Shipping is available to:
• 48 contiguous U.S. states and Canada.
• Select countries (disclosed in individual item description).
• PayPal confirmed addresses only.
• No P.O. box delivery (if P.O. box is preferred, an exception can be discussed)
• No APO/FPO delivery.
• Items will be shipped via USPS or UPS Ground, based on the buyer's preference.
• Shipped on the same or next business day following receipt of full payment.
• UPS/USPS tracking number will be provided.
• Shipping includes the cost of insurance, where applicable.
• Special shipping requests can be communicated and agreed upon at the time of sale.
• A separate handling charge may apply to certain items that require additional packaging in order to ensure safe shipping.  Please refer to the individual listings to see if a handling charge applies.

If an item is shipped to a country outside of the United States, the buyer is responsible for any brokerage, tariffs, taxes, customs, or other charges imposed by that country.  The seller reserves the right to choose the international  shipping carrier based on shipping method selected at the time of payment.  The seller will not understate the value of any item on customs forms.

 

If you purchase or win more than one auction in which the items can safely be shipped together, we will send you a combined invoice.

Returns Policy

• Returns are accepted by seller within 14 days of receipt of item by buyer.  The Buyer will be assessed a 10% restocking fee should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason.
• In accordance with eBay's buyer protection program, the purchase price plus original shipping cost will be refunded to the buyer once the item has been received by the seller, minus the $30 restocking fee noted.
• Buyer is responsible for the return shipping cost and any applicable insurance cost.

Guarantee

• All items are as described, with any item history, known defects or imperfections disclosed in each listing.
• Item description and pictures should be carefully reviewed prior to purchase.
• Any questions or inquiries or any additional pictures should be requested of the seller prior to purchase.

If a buyer is not satisfied with their purchase for any reason within 14 days of receipt of item by buyer, the seller will refund the full purchase price and the initial shipping, with no questions asked. If the item description provided was accurate and the buyer still wishes to return the item, the buyer will be asked to pay the cost of return shipping.  If, however, it is agreed between the buyer and seller that the item description was inaccurate in any way, the seller will pay the cost of return shipping as well.
