Muzzle cover would be placed over the barrel to protect from dirt and dust getting into the barrel. They are connected by placing on the end of the barrel and turning into place the sight guard over the forward sight. These are in original vintage condition. I just found a small box of them. They have been sprayed with some wd40 to help loosen all the old grease up but have not been cleaned. I think its more fun that way for you to uncover it yourself. sold each

how I cleaned it. 1 green scotch brite teflon pad and dawn dish washing liquid scrub clean. or wd40 let it sit in a little plastic bag for a day or two brass brush to steel cleaning brush and buff
