Detailed item notes
This is a really excellent example of this vintage amplifier.  Its a late model, Quad 303s were manufactured between 1967 and 1985 with quantity of 94000, and this one's serial number shows its year of manufacture was 1980-81.  Therefore a substantial number of the continuous modifications undertaken by Quad during its lifetime were incorporated into this one's design.  The amplifier is unconditionally stable with any kind of load including Electrostatic Loudspeakers for which Quad is world famous. I have thoroughly checked over the amplifier looking for any electrical anomalies or faults and found none, carefully cleaned it inside and out and left it on soak test playing music for about eight hours. Everything checks out properly as per the specification and after eight hours of playing music at a fairly loud volume the amplifier cooling fins felt barely warm to the touch as they should be.  I do have a mains and Quad 33 interconnect leads available for this amplifier and these will be supplied.  Also of note is the input sensitivity of this amplifier (for the full output of 45 watts/channel) which is 500 millivolts (see specification).  It is, therefore, ideally suited to be directly fed from a CD Player with a variable voltage output.  No input attenuators will be required.  Its sound quality is typically Quad and through many people ears, mine included, sounds more valve like than transistor which is not surprising since Quad had a tremendous reputation with valve amplifiers.   The Quad 303 was their first foray into transistor design and manufacture and what a success!   Also of note is the photographs are all taken by me of the actual amplifier for sale.  None are stock photographs.  It will also be supplied with a later white cover Quad 303 booklet instruction manual including its circuit diagram.
