ORIGINAL VICTORIAN ETCHED CRANBERRY GLASS DUPLEX OIL LAMP SHADE 4" Hinks Messengers fit

This is a very pretty original Victorian cranberry glass oil lamp shade. The shade is tinted with a nice rich cranberry at the top rim fading to clear at the base. The outside surface is prettily acid etched with a repeating pattern. It is a 4 INCH fit shade so will fit a standard Hinks or Messenger Duplex lamp gallery. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks – it just has the odd scratch. The glass has as you would expect some air bubbles and flecks in it (nice and reassuring that it is original Victorian). There is also as you would expect some very small fleabites and wear to the cut base rim where it rests on the brass gallery. It measures 17.4 cm (6 13/16 inches) tall by 23.5 cm (9 ¼ inches) wide at its widest.

I have taken a photo of the shade lit in my oil lamp to show how pretty it is when on a lit lamp. You may also see that it is sat on a standard Hinks burner. Please remember that this sale is for the SHADE ONLY.
