Original C19 Antique Victorian Print Military Battalion Alpine Maid Swiss Chalet
Description: A fine genre print on artist's card dating circa late 19th Century, unframed - approx 4 x 5 inches (10 x 13 cm). This is a fine English School print dating from the Victorian period. The genre depicts a fabulous study of an elegant lady in a red dress and green bodice walking before a batallion of soldiers high up in the alpine mountains with a chalet in the distance. Beautifully detailed.
Date: The print probably dates to around late 19th Century.
Framing: None The print is mounted on board and has a cream mount.
Condition: The print is in good condition for its age, retaining good colour. There are one or two minor marks and small scratch to the sky area, consistent with age adding to character and authenticity.
