ORIGINAL 1993 IBANEZ RG550DX (PN) PURPLE NEON  BEAUTIFUL!

Relisted due to dead beet bidder 'cemcengiz87' from TURKEY.  Amazing this stuff still persists.  Children...if you can't pay please don't play and waste everyone's time (and your eBay reputation.)  Thanks.

You are viewing a gorgeous and ALL ORIGINAL 1993 Ibanez RG550DX electric guitar in gorgeous Purple Neon metallic finish. One of the last 'square heel' Ibanez masterpieces produced. You will occasionally see Laser Blue RG550DX's for sale, but try finding a Purple Neon one..especially in this condition. The DX version of the RG550 (Cosmo Chrome hardware and Mirror Pickguards) debuted in the Ibanez electric guitar catalog in 1992, and based on this guitar's serial number (F310142), this was likely from the last production run of the 'square heel' RG models.

Hard to believe this vintage beauty is over 20 years old. It looks fantastic. These were built ONLY for a year or two, and it was featured in the '92/'93 Ibanez Guitar Catalog. Comes with the like-new (unbranded) hardshell case as shown.  The case has a very soft plush interior and a nice storage compartment with lid.  NO trem bar is included but you can buy one here on eBay for around $25.

For those of you who may not be aware, the 'DX' (deluxe) RG550 versions were equipped with all the finest 'bling' available at that time: Cosmo Chrome hardware, LO-PRO Edge tremolo, matched-color headstock and a matched-color MIRROR pickguard.  These pieces are visually stunning!

Built at the now-legendary Fuji-Gen guitar factory in Japan, these are FAR superior to just about anything Ibanez offers today.  Let's face it: Whatever words Ibanez currently coins for its 'high end' guitars (e.g., 'Prestige', 'Premium', 'J Custom', etc., etc.), THE ORIGINALS are what they're really trying to duplicate (with mixed results.)  I don't know about you, but I firmly believe that the Golden Age of Ibanez RG's was 1987 thru 1992/1993. The luthiers who worked at the FujiGen guitar plant during that period produced guitars that are simply nothing short of magical.  I've tried many of the 'latest, greatest' Ibanez offerings during the years since...including several of the "J Custom" models, but I keep coming back to these originals.  You just can't top them.  If you've been hoping to find a clean, ORIGINAL Ibanez RG550DX, this is THE ONE. Everything on these...from the top-of-the-line hardware, materials, fit, finish, workmanship and play-ability, is simply astonishing.

Other than some tiny 'marks' here or there and the common finish wear on the neckplate, this guitar is absolutely beautiful. STUDY THE PHOTOS. NO cracks behind the locking nut.  It does have the common neck pocket cracks as shown (paint only as everyone knows), very little to no fret-wear, ultra-clean fretboard. LO-PRO Edge tremolo, considered by many to be the best Floyd-Rose licensed trem that Ibanez has ever offered. Straight neck. The ONLY paint nick I can find is the tiny one as pictured on the front of the headstock edge right below the "V" of the Ibanez 'swoosh' logo, and all other hardware is virtually corrosion-free (very rare for these vintage Ibanez RG's!)

All electronics works perfectly. Original Ibanez V7, V8 and S1 pickups. Just set up with brand new 9-gauge strings (9 thru 42), plays like butter and SINGS like all original Fujigen RG's do - KILLER. Good luck trying to find another one of these in THIS condition.  From a smoke-free / pet-free home.

The camera does NOT do justice to this guitar. This guitar's color 'flip flops' from a pinkish purple to a darker purple color when viewed at different angles in the light. It is visually spectacular, a pure joy to hold and play, and those of you who've had the privilege of playing these early RG's with their WIZARD 1 necks know exactly what I mean.  There is very good reason why these are among the most sought after guitars in the world.  And this particular one is simply astounding in every respect.
