Up for auction is nice lot of box elder (Acer negundo), or ash-leaf maple. There is bright red color throughout this blank and has amazing color. This would make great turnings, carvings, or any of your small projects. The piece was wet to show the bright color. They have been rough surfaced on two sides, but may require additional planing or sanding. The blanks are green. Box elder is a very soft maple and carves about like basswood.
